Synopsis:
 Angelique, a beautiful woman who was forced t marry the ugly Joffrey de Peyrac to pay her father's debt. Despite his appearance, she is touched by his noble soul and soon falls in love with him. Though, their happinessis at stake as Louis XIV wishes to make her his mistress, he sends Joffrey in prison and burns him to death...Seeking to find her husband Joffrey whom she knows to be alive, Angelique embarks aboard a gallery sailing for the island of Langoustiers, on the Mediterranean Sea. In order to get aways from the Moors who attack the gallery, Angelique is forced to jump into the water, without noticing that the leader of the Moors is none other than Peyrac. Angelique is rescued by a three-masted boat. However seeing that she resists his advances, the captain decides to heve her sold in the slave market at Candia. The beautiful Angelique is bought and taken to a house overlooking the sea, where her dear husband is waiting for her. However their happiness is short-lived, as some men distract Peyrac's attention by setting his boat on fire and kidnap Angelique.
